
Camp
2152 SCV - Coats, North Carolina (South Central Brigade)
The
"Coats Camp" was formed up on September, 11th 2008 in
Coats, NC. This camp was formed up of new and past SCV members
who share a passion for history and heritage. The members of the
camp voted to adopt the name of the 10th North Carolina Heavy
Artillery Company B whose roster consisted of many men from the
Harnett County area. The original company was known as "The
Black River Tigers.
On
January 17th, 2009 the camp was officially presented with it's
camp charter in Dunn, North Carolina. Since its formation, the
camp has grown to over 20 members and continues to grow. It has
participated in Confederate Veteran Memorials, Statewide SCV projects
and is in the process of cemetary clean up events. The camp has
also adopted Averasboro Battlefield and performs up keep projects.
